FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)Ask Pharsalos the Sage Boons
Well as a minimum you would have to have 40 card points available for the boon, at least 1 point for a form, and then the points required for your background. So usually around 45 to 50 card points. However, you will be severely restricted in your ability to do things. Most characters receive this boon around 120 to 180 card points. Channel Link
Yes. Channel Link, like the Valarian Champion boon, allows it's user access to a new class of cards. If your character has to the Valarian Champion card she can use Valarian cards. However, in the case of Channel Link, your character only has to be linked to someone who has this boon. This makes Channel cards even more powerful and desirable. Combat
Yes, with this one restriction. You may use your action to move as long as you have used your movement action to move.
No, you are still limited to one dodge per round. Unless you have something that gives you an additional movement - such as Unicorn Gallop or Tigrean Reflexes.
The answer to this question has to be no. However, a Storm Warden might give you a bonus to your DEF allow you to attempt to dodge a ranged attack or give you a bonus to your DEF by diving behind some sort of protective cover, such as a low wall.
In a very limited sense, yes. The Valarian ability Mystic Reflexes allows you to attempt to dodge out of the way of a spell.
No, while you could hold two staves you could only benefit from the DEF, as well as STR, of one. However, if you use the Dual Weapons ace, you could gain the benefits of the DEF of both staves for that round only. Magic Spells and Spell Items
Unfortunately the answer is no. In order to cast a spell from a Wizard's Spell Book, a Witch's Charm, or Shaman Bones you must be able to cast those spells normally either by having the appropriate background or anchor.
Spell Books and similar items only recharge in pristine terrain and it is only in those locations that you can alter the spells that are stored in the item.
Unlike a spell storage device like the Wizard's Spell Book, anyone can use these items.
Yes, a spell cast from any item (ring, book, bones, et. al.) can be dispelled normally.
No, runes are Spell Enhancements and can only be played on spells. Orcs
Anyone can eat warped meat. However, Orcs that use the Eat It card will not suffer any ill effects for eating warped meat. Without it, there is a possibility of contracting the Tox.
While they could eat it, it would still hurt initially. The same thing with warped orbs or other items - they might take damage initially from touching the item, but would otherwise not suffer any adverse effects.
Yes, Orcs can take Bloodkin Evolution, but they are not shifters and cannot shift into other forms. Potions
In order for the magic of any potion to take effect it must be completely consumed in order to gain any benefits.
